Prophet Sall-Allahu alaihi wa sallam said:
"All of you are shepherds, and each one is responsible for his flock.
A leader of people is a shepherd over this family, and he is responsible for his flock.
A woman is like a shepherd over her husband's house and children, and she is responsible for them.
And a slave is a guardian of his master's property and is responsible for it.
So all of you are guardians and are responsible for your charges." Al- Bukhari and Muslim.

My Home-Based Boutique

Ladies, as you can see from my previous post, i've now officially become a business woman, no? hehehe... I think more of a salesperson. It all started when one day my sis called (from many of her phone calls) and said that she can buy some stuffs where she thinks she can get them cheaper there (very2 expensive here, in my definition at least) and sell them here. I suggested her this idea when she 1st came back to Malaysia in 2006. But she didn't like the idea that much or perhaps not thrill enough to take up the challenge. Now, after many emails, text messages & phone calls, our 1st package containing Coach handbags & purses, DKNY handbag and Victoria Secret body mists, safely arrived.

So Ladies, I now present to you my little boutique (it's home-based so you get the picture right?).

I can guarantee it's the cheapest rate (from what i have surveyed so far). Feel free to drop by and browse ya!

Home Sweet Home

APRIL 5th, 2009..

was the date when we officially moved in to our new home. Hub went a day before to clean the house, then on the 5th we quickly loaded everything into my BIL's lorry. Hub, his BIL and FIL went 1st to unloaded. By the time they came back it was after Asar. I waited anxiously to get out from that house. Then it was raining. My hub suggested to go back the next day to which i responded with my sour face. My body, heart and mind was nowhere within the house anymore so hub understood and we all got into the car and off to the new home... aahhh i was sooooo ecstatic... overwhelmed!

The house was only furnished with grills and lightings/fans. It was still curtain-less. We were the 1st to moved in! And that night, we were the only family slept here. Do i care? Not at all. It's wayyyyy much better than... u know where, and most important of all PRIVACY! Damn.. it's really good!

This is the entrance and hallway. Very narrow. One thing i like is the ample spacing between the entrance of the houses. What i mean is, the entrance from mine to the other houses is apart and not next to each other.

This is the kitchen area. The only part we spent lot of moolah on. If you notice, the door is missing, right? We moved the door to the hallway so that this area will be a bit roomy. Because the hobs can be built this way instead of 6ft memanjang. Besides, this way we can built the cabinet in L-shape.

One of the thing that i'm not happy with this house is the layout. You see, there's no partician for all these area. It's a very straight forward layout. Once you enter, you can directly see my kitchen, dining and living lined up on the right side and rooms on the left side. Pening jugak to arrange furnitures and deco (not that we have a lot anyway).

The kids' most favorite place. Playyground and swimming pool. It's not big.. but big enough for kids. Both located on 1st floor. My unit is facing to playground. Swimming pool is on the other side of the apprtment.

The location of my new home, if you're coming from federal highway, after toll batu 3, take the first exit and turn left (you can immediately see this high rise white & grey appartment on the left). Take left at the traffic light (landmark: CSR sugar factory).
Things that we've bought for the house since that:

UDDEN Kitchen trolley for kitchen and UDDEN consoles (one with drawer and wire cabinet) that we arranged to create an island cum dining table.

Wall deco and our home's 1st 2 plants.

Ladies, feel free to drop by my small hut if you're happen to be around the corner. But do give me few hours noticed because the house can be in a very 'disaster' state at most of the time. Plus, i do need to groom myself too if you know what i mean. Hope you enjoy my post. It's long overdue indeed but things happen in life that you just can't predict to happen (and also because of my laziness). Till then...

Lately...

  • i can lose my temper easily... especially to the kids. i kept reminding myself that i should explain to them nicely because they don't know anything. but most of the time i just loose it.
  • i've been feeling really tiried/exhausted... not sure why. there's this one day where i spent the whole late morning and late afternoon sleeping.. (luckily hubby was around to look after the kids while i was doing this)
  • i've been having a mild-tiny-teeny chest pain... doctor's advice to avoid caffeinated beverages which is kinda difficult to abide.
  • not only i lose temper easily... but also been having mood swing. the husband is terribly annoyed with it. i can be very cheerful, nice chatter and bla bla bla for half of the day and then turned 180 degree to a monster.. even a very small thing can ticked me off.
  • especially with Ramadhan just around the corner, i've been thinking about my dad a lot. i really missed him. i regret for not spending more time with him when he was still alive. i'm sad because he'll not be around for this puasa and raya.

note: at the moment i'm annoyed with two things. one is the tabloid who makes the bad rumour (because i'm pretty sure they didn't get all their evidence/research correctly done) about a demise film director. oh come on! why didn't u write all this when she was very much alive??? why must you wait till she passed away and what was your reasons for mengaibkan seorg yg telah tiada?? pls la! second, this singer who got married to an ustaz who just divorced his wife not even a month! what annoys me the most is their (especially 'her') denials. well, all the best to you!

What A SAHM Does...

A friend asked me the other day at a birthday party...

"tak boring ke duduk rumah?"

My very-honest-prompt reply: "tak sempat nak boring la..."

Yeah, i really don't think i had 'the' chance to be bored if you know what i mean. My day-to-day routine is non stop. It's hectic. I'm exhausted. And very tensed every other day. There this even one time i had an emotional breakdown (if that's what you call it when one is crying and laughing at the same due to some stress or pressure).

I really have to admit that having a one year apart toddlers are very tiring. They are in the stage of exploring (read:menyepah!). And one explorer will show example to the other explorer leads to massive explorations all over the house back-to-back. The things that they just love to 'explore' are legos (yes, the small..small things up to the tiniest), flashcards, jigsaw puzzles pieces and cds/dvds. I have to clean all these every single day, and sometimes more than just once a day.

Am not going to whine more on this. Other mommies wuld understand what i have to go thru. i just read what 2 other mommy friends went thru last week and i can actually visualised their situation in my head. But other people just don't get it. That question up there didn't bother me at all. I've been asked so many kind of questions and received so many kind of comments ever since i decided to be a fulltime mom. My no.1 'fav comment' is "rugi je belajar tinggi2". How do you react to that comment?

As a result from all the stress, i think i've become a 'tarzan' mom. If the kids are doing something that they are not supposed to and if telling them nicely twice didn't get thru them, there goes my scream. I especially scream a lot at my no.2 because she's soooo different from my no.1. With no.1, i can just simply say the word 'NO' and she'll get it. And she's very easy to bargain with. Very rationale. Unlike no.2, if she wants something, she demands for that thing one way or another. Sometimes, i can tolerate. But other times, she gets the scream.

I, myself hated the scream. I felt like a monster! If there's any other way i could do, i would do it. But to give in and tolerate everytime, that would be too much, no? I guess this is what they call it the 'terrible two' tantrum, when a toddler turns 2. I have about 8 more months to go with no.2. Then i'll have about 4 months break before no.3 turns 2.

And that's one of the reason why ladies, we (as in the hubby and i) are not thinking about having another little one in this near future. I know for sure that the hubby is a bit dissappointed for not having a son (but very much blessed with the 3 girls) because i felt the same way too. I know that deep inside his heart, he's still looking forward for it. But don't know for sure when he'll be ready for it. Hopefully not when i'm 40.

Just want to share an interesting fact. We conceived no.1 abt 2 months after we got married. Unlike hubby who's very excited and the one who looked fwd for a baby the minute we got married, i wasn't 100% ready. Then, while i was planning to conceive no.2, hubby told me he wasn't ready for that. But we conceived her anyway. I didn't know exactly when we conceived no.3 but it sure a surprise to both of us who are obviously didn't see that coming! So if there's going to be no.4, hopefully it'll come when we are fully prepared for one.

Hubby's New Toy..... gone.

I've been wanting to share about my hubskin new toy. The title that i have in mind then was the first three words. Here is the said toy...

He bought it from my BIL who bought it just a year ago. He was totally in love with this bike. I didn't agree at first when he told me he wants to buy this. But when he said his reasons, mainly for him to go to work so that i culd have the car all to myself, i culdn't agree more.

It took quite a long while for him to arrange for the staff vehicle loan. Ada je yg tak complete la.. tak cukup la.. so and so. He was out and about from bank to JPJ to insurance company. When it was finally over, baru la lega.

Did i mentioned that he loves this bike? Even Mia loves it too. She prefers the papa to send her to school riding this rather than the boring mom driving in the car. Sometimes, both girls insisted that the papa take them on the bike to go pusing2. Oh, what a joy for them!

But the joy didn't last long. This is the date when i received a call from hubskin at around 11ish pm and he said...

"b, motor i hilang..."

I was like.... "hah! mcm mana boleh hilang??"

"i turun nak balik.. tgk kt parking motor dah tak de..." (in a very calm tone)

I was shocked. Very shocked. But i know hubby, he's not only shocked... but very devastated. When he called again later after lodging a police report, i asked him whether he has checked around maybe jpj or dbkl tarik kot. He said, he parked at a motocycle parking space so there's no reason for any of them to tow it. Another thing he said, a hotel security guard in front of his office building saw 2 men took the bike.

There goes the lovely toy. We're all sad. I'm sad because...
1. i'll be car-less when he's working... therefore stucked at home all day long.
2. no more naik motor pusing2 for the girls
3. i've planned to go on a date with hubskin riding the bike.
but most of all i'm sad because i know the hubby is sad...

Here is the only photo of him riding it.. but it was taken before he bought it. He was test-driving it when BIL just got the bike...

18 Jan 2009

It’s about time I write how was my birthday went. Hubs told me about 2 weeks before my birthday that he was going away on that weekend. I was sad of course, although I’ve gotten my birthday gift, mainly because I’ll be stucked here with the Ils who don’t even know (or bother to know) it’s my birthday. It’s not that am expecting some celebration from them. But at least I want to be with someone more meaningful or more (how la to put it into words)…related? Does that make sense? Someone who cares and understand me perhaps.

I told hubs that since he’s not going to be around on my birthday, so I requested for early celebration. Just a small treat actually because he already spent quite a big amount on the crocs. I chose dinner at Nando’s and Big Apple Donut for dessert. Oh! How I just love the donuts! Yummies!!

Since I still don’t like the idea of spending the whole day of my birthday in this house, I texted my best bud ms sue (love u dearly, beb!), told her the whole sad story about hubs not going to be around bla..bla..bla.. She then, generously offered to take me out. It really brought a big grin on my face. Hubs went off on Saturday. That Sunday, ms sue drove all the way from KL, siap tersesat ntah mana2. I was beginning to worry ok. Finally she arrived. Phew! How lega I was.

She told me we’re going to Ikea. I was ok with the idea. Then she said we’re having lunch at McD. I honestly don’t mind any place to dine but when I’m with the kids (even with hubs around) I can only managed with one pit stop. So the idea of walking from Ikea to McD (with no underpass or anything) is not really a good idea. She then offered to park at McD and then park again at Ikea. I declined again because of the idea of taking the kids in and out from the car could take forever (read: the mom just lazy to get the kids in and out of the car).

I offered to belanja kat TGIF or Dome instead but she insisted on having lunch in McD. Then I suggested Ikea café. She kinda reluctant at first then agreed. Arrived at the café, it was packed. It took me about 15-20 mins queuing to get the foods. When I was just settling down all the foods for the girls, and was just about to eat mine, someone walked up behind me and said ‘happy birthday!’. It was Amnah! She came with her baby! And her sister. I was surprised of course and I thought it was a coincidence that she was there.

While chit chatting, I heard her asking ms sue ‘siapa lagi nak datang?’ it was then that I know ms sue had planned up with our cbn gang to surprise me. Later, ms san and hui yee (with her big baby bump!) came! It was ages since I last met san. If I remembered correctly, it was during ros’ wedding. Speaking of which, ros also came with her kids and hubs. Oh! It was the best day ever! Thank you all so much for coming and of course special thanks to ms sue who organized it. Told you if we planned it last minute will turned out better than if we planned it earlier, right?

After lunch, we went to brand’s outlet where I went gaga with all the baby suits tagged ALL RM19.90. I just can’t resist by the cuteness of the baby suits especially for girls so i took 4 carter’s suits and 1 pj for baby J, 1 suit for baby im (SIL#1’s baby boy), 1 suit and 1 pj for my sister’s yet to be born baby. Plus I also grabbed few other additional such as bibs and a lounge pants for myself. While I picking all these clothes, Marsya was running here and there. Buat macam rumah sendiri pulak. She just can’t stand still for just 1 minute! Penat sgt!
Then, we stopped by Dome for a drink before went off to the Curve. Memang ada rasa macam dah nak tercabut je kaki but I just don’t feel like going home yet. I finally found something decent for me to wear for outings, after a long search, at Esprit. Itupun, tinggal last piece. Oh! Tgh dok browse2 kat Street Mall (ye ke nama dia?), we bumped into Mama Fida. Now that was coincidence.

We head back around 7pm and reach here at 8pm. AJL was on that night. And just my birthday was about to end that day, I got another surprise from hubs. He came back later that night! He’s supposed to come back on Monday, actually. Am I the luckiest 31-year-old or what?!

That wraps up on how I celebrate of getting a year older. My only prayer, is for Allah to give me a lot of strength and from there I hope I could be more pious. I hope to be a devoted wife to hubskin, and a good, loving and caring mom to my kids. They are my most precious charm!

Mama Mia

Hubs and I decided to send Mia to Vital Years this year. Our initial plan was Genius Aulad in USJ but since we still haven’t got the key to our house yet so we opted for VY which luckily they have one here. Her 1st week at school, she cried everyday either during the drop off or during class. I really pitied her coz she’s never been away on her own, without us that is. Luckily, the teacher is very nice, siap carry Mia (even her mom pun tak pernah carry her ever since she got baby sisters). 2nd week she was much better. According to her teacher, she started joining the playgroup/circle and willing to participate.

I asked her one time, ‘what did you do in school today?’ and she said ‘kakak tengok cartoon’ to which I said to myself ‘that’s what you’ve been doing all the time before I send you to school’. Another time I asked her ‘so what did you learn in school today?’ and she replied ‘nyanyi ABC’ and again I said to myself ‘you already know that song’. Since I’m not quite satisfy not knowing exactly what she learnt in school so I asked one of the teacher what did they learn on that day and she said (the word) ‘look’. Ok, Mia has learnt that too. I was thinking, with the amount of money we paid, was that all they teach her?? Me and my ‘mountain high’ expectation =p

Apart from all that, she’d started to sing 2-3 new songs like:
Watermelon, watermelon… papaya, papaya… banana, banana, banana, banana… fruit salad, fruit salad (erm.. Not sure whether it’s fruit salad or fruit seller)

Where is Fiffy, where is Fiffy, …she’s not here, she’s not here… running look for Fiffy, running look for Fiffy,… she’s not here, she’s not here.

She also has learnt to draw. Well I always envy when mommy-on-the-loose post Hani’s art works and crafts. Mia loves to draw either with crayons, color pencils or water colors. But I think she just scribbles rather than draw so malu la nak post. Now, am proud to show off my daughter’s 1st drawing hihihihi…

Before we signed her up, that was in Dec, we called developer to ask when can we get the key coz we were told before end of 2008. The lady told us it’s going to be end of Jan. We thot of sending Mia to VY in here just for Jan je la and then continue in VY in Shah Alam but when hubs called them last week and she said end of Feb. I called them like 2 weeks back (before hubs called) and she said after CNY. So now I'm seriously don’t know when the house is going to be handed over. Special note to that LOUSY developer SHANGHAI REALTY (M) SDN. BHD, keep the house as long as you want. Peram lah lama-lama!

So now, after seeing Mia went thru her 1st week in school, tak kan la senang-senang je nak take her out from here and let her have the ‘new girl in class’ experience all over again. I myself don’t like that. I suggested to hubs to find us a rented house somewhere here to let her continue schooling till end of this year. But the things is, I’ve looked around, ALL AROUND, didn’t find any house for rent. There are a lot of empty houses but there were no signs or numbers to contact. By hook or by crook am going to make sure we’ll move out from this #*@!! Latest by 31 Jan.

ps: yaya, if i were to write all the things 'she' had said about my daughters (which i think her fav gdaughter lg teruk!) mmg cukup 1 blog. i've been very discreet i.e. malas nak blog abt it and malas nak kecoh2. i normally just ignore aje dia. but as i said before, that day i mmg tgh moody after handling cranky sick baby.
pss: this is my 4/5th attempt posting this entry. all becoz am not satisfied with how picture of Mia's drawing came out.

New Year 1430H/2009

I know I haven’t blog in awhile and I blame my-laziness-self for that. There are so many things to tell and whenever I was online, I just do the regulars I.e. check up mail box and open up facebook. And the rest of it I just spent reading my mommy friends’ blog and watch desperate housewives. Am just so lazy to put all the things I wanted to tell into words. So right now, while I’m not online, am drafting this so that when I get online I can just simply copy and paste. Hence, this entry.

Ok, let’s start with New Year in both calendar.

Awal Muharram was on Monday, rite? On Tuesday, after Vital Year’s registration, I took the kids to Alamanda to buy some desserts to bring to my sister’s house. I bought Famous Amos cookies and Baskin Robbins. Went to my sis’ house had lunch and desserts and then I left the kids to finally have the hair cut which I’ve been postponing for quite awhile. After Maghrib I went to KL to fetch hubby dear. Arrived home the kids all asleep. At 4am, Mia woke up and vomited twice! Later that morning we brought her to clinic. Didn’t get any prescription coz the doctor said that they don’t prescribe kids for ubat tahan muntah. Both hubs and I didn’t know what to do. The whole day she practically vomited whatever she consumed. Hubs went to work at 2pm only for me to call him home about 3 hours later coz Mia dah melepek and had a fever. We took her to another clinic and this time we got the ubat tahan muntah.

That was on Wednesday. Thursday, she was much better. Just a little bit of vomiting but it was ok. I managed to change all the sheets in the room that day. When I was just about to go online around 10 pm that day, Marsya started vomiting. Hers was even worse. She vomited through out the night until 4am! I stayed up coz by 12am (New Year) she was already too tired and sleepy to get up and vomit, so I’d to wipe off the dirt and let her sleep as it is. She looked so helpless. I managed to get a couple hour of sleep before she woke up again around 6ish am to vomit. By then, ntah apa-apa je yang keluar.

Friday was the best part. So that day, after having lack of sleep and Marsya was still sick, I felt so tired and not really in a mood for anything. That’s when the MIL really ticked me off. Can anyone tell me which or whose baby doesn’t get cranky when he/she sick? In my experience most babies cries and cranky when they got sick. And so was Marsya that day. The MIL, upon hearing the cry (which I can honestly swear to you all that it was not that loud and I swear I’ve heard louder than that), while she was walking in and out of the room getting ready for a yassin recital, said “menangis jerit-jerit”. I was so pissed. When my hubs came back from Friday prayer, I sobbed and told him what had happen. To cut thing short, after some tunjuk perasaan in the bathroom, hubs decided to check us in in a hotel. We stayed for 2 nights. The day we checked out, hubs thought we should head straight back home coz Marsya was still sick. I memuncung je la the whole journey coz still sad to go back. Since my hubs was so baik hati that day so he took us to Subang Parade instead and bought my birthday present in advance. Barulah I ada mood nak balik ok.

That was my new year’s week. There’s more to tell about Mia’s 1st week at school and my birthday. I can’t continue all the write ups here otherwise this post will be so very lengthy and also because this draft itself took almost one whole day to complete. Insyaallah, will continue in my next post. BBFN Muah!

Ps: despite the horrible week, i've kicked off this new year with my new pair of crocs celeste suede, that birthday pressie from my darling husband.
